Social Tailor is delighted to support Fashion Revolution, it is back in Scotland for a third year; calling for greater transparency in the global fashion supply chain and celebrating those on a journey to create a more ethical and sustainable future for fashion. After the previous success of Fashion Revolution Day’s campaign, worldwide this year will see a week long series of events, each focusing on the important theme #whomademyclothes? Challenging global fashion brands to demonstrate commitment to transparency across the length of the value chain, from farmers to factory workers, brands to buyers and consumers.
Beginning with a screening of the emotive documentary “The True Cost” which examines the impact of fashion on people and the planet, the campaign across Scotland will continue with workshops, a pedal powered event, pop-up future fashion market and cumulate with a street selfie-booth and information hub on Glasgow’s famous Style Mile, Buchanan Street. Here members of the public can directly participate in taking action and asking the brands behind their wardrobe #whomademyclothes?
Alongside the week of events Fashion Revolution Scotland is asking everyone to:
1. Show your clothing label. You could turn your clothes inside out to make more of a statement.
2. Follow that brand on social media with this message: “I want to thank the people who made my clothes, @brand #whomademyclothes?”
