Malcolm Cannon:
Tell me about you, who you are, what you do and what you love most about life?
I am Malcolm Cannon, I am a young boy of 53 who doesn’t want to grow up, I play sport, I sing and dance and I have been lucky enough to have worked and played with great people and great brands for most of my life. I love food, drink, music and people who smile!
What is it you love most about your business today?
Though I work in sport, I am heavily involved in a bespoke shirt business ShirtByHand providing tailor-made shirts. There are many shirt companies who do custom-design and fitting but it is the experiential side of ShirtByHand which I love; we visit you in your home or place of work, measure you professionally and advise on colour, fit and extras for your shirt of choice depending on whether it is for work, leisure or a special formal occasion. If you ran a £billion business how would like to change the world you live in?
I would ensure that packaging waste was reduced to a minimum, the calamity of plastics in the ocean is terrifying and is causing untold problems. We need to look after this planet better; I know everyone says this but we all have the ability to make a difference, albeit small.

Boys are not known for buying beauty products; do you have a recommendation?
I started using a moisturiser after shaving about 5 years ago – very late I agree! It has, I think, made a difference and I can now see why my brother, who has used one for decades, looks so much younger than me! I use L’Oreal Men Expert (look sharp, not tired!)….and am not ashamed to say so!
