sharein-parkure

Crowdfunding Scotland; there’s a lot of it about. The trend really kicked off in Scotland two years ago.

The biggest platforms (Kickstarter and Indiegogo) are great and continue to grow and what’s more they occasionally have projects from our neck of the woods.

In the past I’ve invested in a number of Startups, one or two fruitful, some not so much. But what of the ones where you get more than a gizmo, more than a signed T-shirt or name in the Credits? What about the ones that actually give you EQUITY in the company. Give you real ownership. Growth beyond the Startup phase, a long term option. There are very few of them.

I’m typically a Tech, Fashion and Retail person but Biomedical in Edinburgh and Scotland has proved to be an amazing yield (who could forget Dolly the sheep)!

I came across Parkure on ShareIn (picture above) a Scottish CrowdFund. Parkure are searching for a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. We know the story’s of Billy Connolly, Michael J Fox and recently Robin William’s have or are all facing this debilitating disease. My own Gran did too… But what’s interesting to me is the Equity opportunity in investing in Parkure. I had no idea they are one of the first to attempt this and what’s more legally it’s not an option in the USA.

As it stands they are 35% of the way there: “Cure for Parkinson’s by Parkure“.

Will you join me in supporting them?
