Did you make it?

Were you there?

Edinburgh’s high fashion store for women, Jane Davidson, had a rather fabulous fashion show to introduce us to not only the Conde Nast Exhibition at the City Art Centre but also a showcase of their Autumn Winter 2013 collections.

We were entertained by a very opinionated guide of the Exhibition – he was quite literally a theatrical dagger – thrusting quips and sneering flicks of disdain whilst brimming with effervescent charm and ebullient insight into his most poignant pieces. His knowledge of the 40’s to early 70’s cinema where stars and costumiers were treated as dazzling monuments of fashion was boundless; those of us not knowing the film or actors were immediately told to buy from Amazon so as not to diminish our already lacking knowledge…

A brilliant and highly entertaining performance, to be followed by a fabulously choreographed fashion show – Sarah Murray (Buyer and Owner of Jane Davidson) had a difficult act to follow.

We were not let down!

What followed?

One of my favourites was the Diane Von Furstenberg Leopard Coat seen below, the Karl Donoghue lambskin biker shearling was just phenomenal, so much of the Matthew Wiliamson needs to be embraced, the Temperley and Roksanda dresses were simply stunning.

I’m very much looking forward to the next event; what a wonderful team and what a great showcase. As someone that is prone to point out elements that could be improved I could find no fault… long may it continue.
