The Edinburgh Eveningnews and Harpers Bazaar confirmed today that Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel is coming to Edinburgh. Scotland clearly must be a place close to the fashion house’s heart, as this news comes just a day after Chanel confirm they will save over 150 jobs at the Scottish cashmere company Barrie Knitwear, who have a history of working with luxury brands, including Hermes and Chanel.

Scotland should be preparing for a glamorous affair this winter; last year guests to Chanel’s Metiers d’Art, who included Vanessa Paradis and Frieda Pinto, arrived in Paris to see a lavish show inspired by India. The collection, which incorporated pieces dripping in jewels and pearls, was sent down a runway on models from Stella Tennant and Edie Campbell.
