It’s not been in store since 1999! – Welcome back.
I got the inside chat from my friends at Modus PR – Frances Walker is the one that has been appointed by Jigsaw who will be carrying the broad shoulders…
Frances fondly remembers the original Jigsaw menswear line, which has been absent from the UK High Street for over 10 years. However, she has a strong vision for the new brand and remains focussed on creating a collection that has honesty and integrity for today’s discerning customer:
‘’I have always loved the essence of Jigsaw, it’s exciting, quirky and British. I am designing for someone who is effortlessly handsome, who’s casual but elegant. It’s not about dressing up, it’s about how they would naturally dress – proper men’s clothes that are fit for a purpose.’’
Collection favourites are focused around casual tailoring and summer outerwear including the unstructured linen herringbone overcoat, a double face British Millerain navy pea coat and a Jigsaw check wool cotton blazer. Trousers and shorts in brighter hues are important for SS12 and shirts are a focus with a worn in and laundered feel in luxury Italian fabrics.
Traditional knitwear such as Fisherman’s rib and summery cotton-linen striped jumpers work with this less formal collection which also includes summer tailoring such as half lined jackets and linen blend separates. A collection of limited edition accessories including moulded leather gadget cases, heavy twill and leather trim bags, scarves and 3 key shoe shapes which are predominantly British made complete the elegant collection.
Exciting stuff – I wish them well.
