Facebook Store, Lyle and Scott
This is the way of it – if you are considering building or replacing your existing store you can now have an identical site made that sits within Facebook whilst operating on your own URL (web address) at the same time – 2 birds one stone – and don’t let anyone tell you differently. At the moment of course there are not that many developers capable of this exercise – but through the use of WordPress and the ECommerce plugin Magento you can be off to the races.
Here we’ve been sent the press release about Lyle and Scott’s first foray into “Social Shopping”, I wonder if anyone has taken the time to explain #SOCIAL OBJECTS to the team (person) managing their online community?
I have to say the team that built the site have clearly struggled with Facebooks platform – they’ve made it clunky, unappealing and rather damaging to the brand – their own site that uses exactly the same graphics and fonts is much slicker with a User Interface that’s less patronising. But hey what do I know, maybe this store will take their 40,000 fans and make them buy more just for the love of the brand?
