Christopher Bailey’s S/S 2011 collection was on the money, a great commercial collection that embraced his great cut and fabric techniques with leather and studs. His 80’s inspired belts and bags were groovy and stunning colours too but the real peach for me was the boys drainpipes and sandals combo.
Now if any of you know me, you’ll know that’s a look I’ve been sporting all summer – now I feel justified!
For the girls the skirt lengths suit the very skinny as do the leggings – the short Leather Jackets are both very under stated and one or two in your face.
When I was a buyer at Burberry Roberto Menichetti had just not long been brought in and I adored his biker inspired collections of 1999 and 2000; I got the distinct impression that CB had been marginally influenced by those off road biker gear looks.
