There can be no doubt about 2 things:
1. There is definitely a resurgence in UK retail investment
2. Urban Outfitter is a great store concept beautifully packaged
Anthropologie is part of the same business but as Aubin & Wills is to Jack Wills, Anthropolgie is to Urban Outfitters – a similar idea a different customer profile. Taking a prime site on Edinburgh’s George Street (replacing Austin Reid who are moving) the store is set to open June 2011… ages away. But that’s not the only news there are a couple of other big names moving to Edinburgh – and I don’t mean Primark.
I’m intrigued because Edinburgh is not known to be the hotbed of fashion that Glasgow is and yet all the action is happening in the east – somebody has been doing research that suggests these particular stores will work better in the capital…
