Caryn Franklin of “How to Look Good” fame was (I think) invited to Scotland by Cathy Black, head of textiles at Scottish Enterprise to open a showcase that highlights the collaborative activities in the Scottish Textile industries. Caryn was heard to say: “I believe this is one of the textile world’s best-kept secrets – Scottish textiles have undeniable class and considerable star quality and deserve to be better perceived in the market place and rewarded by the new business that follows as a result”.

Often the perception is they only produce Tartan and Harris Tweed – which quite frankly I adore; why do people keep putting it down when it’s such an important part of Scotland’s income and national pride?
