Let’s make this habit forming.
My clients keep winning awards!
I have had the great fortune to work with the winners of both 2013 and 2014 Drapers Independent Retailer of the Year Award. This year the quote from the Drapers website reads: “A Hume Country Clothing in Kelso, Scotland – described as “a simply brilliant company” by judges – picked up two prizes including the coveted Independent Retailer of the Year…”
I am delighted for both A Hume and Jane Davidson who picked up the Premium Fashion Independent of the Year in 2013.
So what do the Awards mean in the grand scale of things?
“Raising your company profile, reinforcing credibility, connecting to new brands, networking, attracting new staff and inspiring current employees are just a few of the advantages to winning an award.
Being an indie retailer is tough. Competing with chain stores and a customer base that is migrating online are just two of the challenges that have to be faced. Awards add value to your reputation and market positioning, ensuring you stand apart from competitors and can persuade potential customers that purchasing from you is the right decision.
The benefits of being an independent store are endless: you are part of a community, drawing in customers who have a taste for something different; you can be reactive to what’s happening around you, break the rules and set your own limits – it’s not a ‘one size fits all’ experience.
The Drapers Independents Awards celebrate this individuality and innovation and we will ensure you harness the power of your win. New doors are certain to open and you need to be sure to walk through them.” (Becci Cornelius from Anne’s Cottage Surf Shops)
