As we’ve said before, we work with other sectors than just fashion and retail. As big supporters of the Third sector we’re delighted to have Poppyscotland as our chosen charity (and client!). We’ve worked with them since early 2010 providing their strategic approach to integrating social media throughout the organisation (we’ve a long way to go yet). The focus has been on blog writing and Facebook whilst also using Youtube and Twitter to a lesser extent.
In 2010 the Likes on Facebook were 6500 which created a 20% increase in web traffic and a 5% increase in donations
In 2011 the Likes on Facebook went up to 45,000 creating a 50% increase in web traffic and a 17.2% increase in donations
We are are a long way off from knowing the year totals and we won’t know a donations amount until at least the end of the first quater next year. It should be noted that although donations are up for both years the activity on social media and Facebook is certainly not the only reason for the dramatic increase.
This year we were involved in the planning and delivery of a Flashmob for Poppyscotland that (1 week on) has delivered some startling results already – we’ve already seen a jump in 20,000 Likes in Facebook and 12,000 views on Youtube. Early days but an encouraging start.
I should point out that there are lots of people to thank for the creation and delivery of the flashmob – view the film credits to seem them all!
