Maybe that should read, “I’m in love with Calvin Klein’s marketing campaign that focusses on Lara Stone!” The clever people at Klein have done what I have advised many people to do – develop a campaign around a person, the head of the business, the face of the company.
Why?
Because we get emotionally attached, get sucked in, trust the very real person with all their flaws and skeletons in the cupboard, identify and empathise or recognise traits… Lara is a slightly shy, awkward, chameleon of a super-model, with a clipped Dutch accent that was born to model (started at 13). Clearly I see myself in her?!! (ok, maybe not).
The CK campaign centred around Fashions Night Out putting Lara on a pedestal.
Hello Mrs David Walliams, stop and say Hi sometime.
Don’t you love that gap in her teeth?!
