I recently had the chance to meet and be given a tour of Judy R Clark’s studio. Judy is an Edinburgh based Fashion Designer that has a truly couture and commission based business (but equally set up to to provide pieces in large quantities). Now with regular visits to New York for select trunk shows Judy is set to take that next step up. She knows her craft inside out having cut her teeth at Alexander McQueen and now designing with specific clientèle in mind.
I remember when Rose Marie Bravo picked Roberto Menichetti to head up the new direction for Burberry and can’t help feeling Judy is destined to make a similar difference to a brand that needs an injection of excitment, drive sales and a real buzz.
