TOM FORD
Ok so we all know who Tom Ford is; he brought a certain spark to Gucci, left to do his own thing, got into fragrance and movies… stop. Didn’t it look nice anyway?
So reading the NY Times the other day and came across their crit of his show for NYFW:
“Since then, Mr. Ford has been hired, fired, adored and rejected by fashion, and Oscar-nominated for his new cinematic career. In this comeback show, he succeeded in bringing a vibrant emotion to a collection of superbly crafted clothes that, while not new or edgy, filled the needs and stoked the desires of women as diverse as those famous and fabulous females in his show.” Link to article
If we are not pushing the boundaries of fashion, is it fashion? They want Tom’s clothes because he’s clearly a glorious person with impeccable style – but what need is it fulfilling?
Is it to feel glorious about ones self – YES! and some.
So let’s all just bow on bended knee at the very alter of our dear boy that exalted, perma tanned delight of crafted perfection – oh wait, that’s me.
